Born from Lindy Hop and East Coast Swing, West Coast Swing evolved into its own distinct style — danced to a variety of music with a strong focus on improvisation, musicality, and connection.

About Our Classes
All classes are held weekly at the Triune Masonic Temple in St. Paul. No partner or prior experience needed — just show up ready to dance.
FREE Beginner Month
Perfect for complete beginners. Learn the foundations of West Coast Swing — footwork, timing, and the basic lead-follow connection that makes WCS unique. This class will teach you the basic 6-count and 8-count patterns as well as fundamentals of connection and footwork.
No partner or prior experience needed. New students may not join after week 2 without instructor approval.
Technique Modules
For dancers comfortable with the basics and ready to develop real technique. Four rotating 4-week modules that can be taken in any order — each focuses on a distinct movement vocabulary.
Tuck Turns
Introduces advanced concepts of lead-follow and how to apply them musically.
Rolling Passes
Both leaders and follows will learn proper turning technique as well as general mechanics of movement in west coast swing.
Sways & Walks
Step away from standard patterns to focus on partnership and musicality.
Whip Variations
Covers 8-count patterns with a focus on connection and footwork fundamentals.
New students may not join after week 2 of a module without instructor approval.
Drop-in Advanced
An open-format class for experienced WCS dancers who are regularly social dancing. Topics rotate each session — styling, patterns, improvisation, and more. Drop in whenever it fits your schedule.
For experienced WCS dancers attending regular social dances.
